Allison and I just returned from Bronson, where Alli had her GJ tube button changed out for a bigger one. She was getting too fat (in a good way) for the smaller size. She was sedated for the 8th time (the second in 6 days) and taken down to radiology where the button was switched out. Sedation is always a little scary, but I knew she was going to be okay when she started "singing" before we wheeled her downstairs. Her pupils were dilated and she would not stop "aaahhhhh"-ing and "ooooowwww"-ing. It was cute, in a pathetic, drugged, kind of way. I could tell she was as high as a kite, so I worried less about her.
She was back within 40 minutes or so and sound asleep. We waited for a while before waking her up and starting her feed (Pedialyte for a few hours before her formula). Then it was a quick removal of the IV, change her clothes, and we left. Thanks to the great nurses and doctors at Bronson for making this trip so easy. Plus it was nice to catch up with some of them (yeah, I know 90% of the people who work on the Peds floor). Most of them were aware that we were planning on going to the Mayo Clinic, so they were curious what we had learned. Hopefully we will hear from Dr. Renaud (Mayo Neurologist) today about some more test results.
