Custom Stroller! We spent our day on Friday traveling to Grand Rapids to meet with the ORTHOseat therapists about building a custom stroller for Alli J. We learned a lot about how important posture is for hip alignment, weight bearing, and overall level of engagement. In fact, we saw Allison go from being grumpy to being completely entertained when we put her in the stroller. Unfortunately, insurance may decide not to cover this because children under 3 generally don't have the need. We spent 2 hours taking measurements and deciding on upgraded features. If insurance covers it, it will take a few months to build. We put in the paperwork a strong case for both the stroller and the base, so we could click out the seat from the stroller and put it in the base - perfect for at daycare. I would need a bigger car to actually fold up the stroller qnd transport it, but we are mostly interested in the seating idea, not so much the mobility portion of the stroller. This could also transport Alli when she starts riding the bus. I am excited for Alli and the possibilities...
